Computer Video

Studio A, one of our state of the art, padded, high-tech classrooms, features the RGS Touch-Screen Computerized Video Training System.  It's easy to use. No knowledge of computers is necessary.

Students may view some of the best Martial Artists in the world demonstrating Chon-Ji patterns and techniques in real time, slow motion, and even from all four directions.  The system also provides students and instructors with the ability to record and review their own training sessions in the classroom.

Why the RGS Touch-Screen Computerized Video Training System?

Virtually all high level sports training programs utilize video. Football teams review past performance and the techniques of their opponents; swimming, running and gymnastics coaches analyze their athlete’s movements with sophisticated computer video systems; fighter pilots review maneuvers; and no competitive skydiving team would make a jump without a videographer. Skilled coaches, masters of their art, can detect the strengths and flaws in a pattern, flow, and style of a student’s performance. Recording and reviewing sparring, patterns, and skits enhances the Master’s ability to see every aspect of an exercise. Perhaps even more important, the student can for the first time view a precise record of his or her performance - what they did, not what they thought they did.

The Student, working together with the Master wants to develop deep understanding of the techniques and to improve as rapidly as possible.  Video review is an extremely efficient method to compare and contrast styles, identify strengths and weaknesses, and record progress. The Master will determine the techniques to be practiced, demonstrate, explain, record, analyze, discuss, and then direct practice of the skills with video or mirror. Both Master and student will find great satisfaction in this method.  Video may also drive the level of proficiency for students seeking to compete at a higher level.

Students can use their tapes at home for further study. A long-form student tape, available through the DoJang, can be appended (even date coded), yielding a cumulative record of a student’s progress. Tapes may be reviewed by instructors to judge a student’s progress.  Students can also form study groups and work together between classes to hone their skills.

Video establishes a record of progress and reinforces pride in ones accomplishments.  Video is a great motivator!
